PITCH REGULATIONS — PRO-RESEARCH 2026
This regulation establishes the rules for participation in the pitch and matchmaking round promoted within the scope of Pro-Research 2026, made possible by the MC TEA platform.
1. ABOUT PARTICIPATION
Participation is free and open to two categories: researchers (who present technologies, skills, or research lines) and companies (who present real needs). There is no registration fee, no charges at any stage of the event, and it is not necessary to subscribe to any paid plan on the platform. The deadline for registration is September 1, 2026.
2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR INFORMATION
The participant is solely and fully responsible for all information entered on the platform — including, but not limited to: identification data, description of the technology or need, links and materials (pitch video, deck, attachments), contact information, and any technical, scientific, or commercial statement. By submitting their application, participants declare that:
• the information is true, complete, and up-to-date;
• they hold the rights to the submitted content (or have authorization from the owner), and are responsible for any violations of intellectual property, copyright, trademark, trade secrets, or contracts with third parties;
• they understand that confidential materials should not be submitted without a prior confidentiality agreement — the platform does not replace an NDA, and the content may be viewed by curators and potential partners;
• they release the event organization and the MC TEA platform from any liability for damages arising from inaccurate, omitted, false information, or information that does not comply with current legislation.
3. CURATION AND SELECTION OF FINALISTS
The curation is carried out by experts appointed by the organization. The selection combines human evaluation and the algorithmic score calculated by the platform (semantic similarity between technologies, skills, and demands). The curation decisions are final and cannot be appealed, except in cases of proven material error. The number of selected participants will be decided based on submissions, and those selected will be contacted by email.
4. BENEFITS FOR THE PARTICIPANT
The benefits offered by the event are, by their nature, opportunities for exposure, networking, and professional development, namely:
• presenting your technologies or needs to a qualified audience of researchers, companies, investors, and decision-makers;
• having your application algorithmically matched with real-world cases — researchers receive aligned industry needs; companies receive aligned academic expertise;
• participating in business roundtables and one-to-one conversations with potential partners indicated by the matching process;
• remaining visible in the MC TEA showcase even after the event ends, expanding the long-term reach of your technology or need;
• receiving structured feedback from the curation team (when applicable);
• optional platform usage benefits to be defined by the organization.
5. USE OF DATA AND IMAGE RIGHTS
By registering, the participant authorizes the organization and the MC TEA platform to use the public information from the registration (title, theme, institution, description) for the purpose of publicizing the event, the matching, the showcase, and related communications. Contact information (email, phone) is shared exclusively between the parties involved in a matching connection and with the curation team, and will not be publicly displayed.
6. CONDUCT AND EXCLUSION
The organization may exclude, without prior notice, registrations that present offensive, fraudulent, illegal, commercially misleading content, plagiarism, or violation of these regulations. Exclusion does not generate any right to compensation.
7. CHANGES
The organization reserves the right to change these regulations, deadlines, or the event format for operational reasons, notifying registrants via the registered email address.
8. ACCEPTANCE
Submitting the application implies reading, understanding, and fully accepting these regulations.

How entries are ordered
To organise the review, each entry receives an automatic score from 0 to 10, based on the criteria below. It only defines the ORDER in which entries are presented to the curators — decisions on approval and finalist selection are made by people.
-
Average similarity
40%
— How closely the matches found for the entry relate in content.
-
Match count
30%
— How many relevant counterparts the entry found in the top 10.
-
Thematic axis diversity
15%
— Matches spread across different thematic axes score higher than matches concentrated in a single one.
-
Pitch completeness
15%
— Summary, video, deck and contact details filled in.
